FLIGHT FACILITIES – TAKING FLIGHT (Electro/House/Lounge – Australia)

The identity of the artists behind Flight Facilities remains mysterious… Rumour has it that this project is the brainchild of  Jimmy 2 Sox and (possibly) U-Go-B, two Sydneysiders affiliated with Australian electro labels Bang Gang 12 inches and Modular. Their page on LastFM says they met at a Holy Ghost! DJ set in New York and immediately hit it off, sharing loves in music, literature and movies. Plans to work together were formed then but didn’t really take off until the following year when they met again at the secret Bang Gang Runway party. This time, real plans were formed and and they started doing some remixes for a bunch other artists such as Toecutter, Bag Raiders, The Lowbrows and Sneaky Sound System.

Sneaky Sound System – 16 (Flight Facilities Remix)

Toecutter – Best Party Ever (Flight Facilities Remix)

The Lowbrows – Dream In The Desert (Flight Facilities Remix)

They are just about to release a fantastic single, “Crave You”, that will be out in a couple of months (get it HERE). In the meantime, you can check out the song just below. They are also planning to release an album called Taking Flight some time in 2010. For more info and updates visit Flight Facilities on MySpace

Jimmy2sox was part of To Shades with Jordan. They stopped working under that name. Now Jimmy2sox is just Jimmy2sox – hence there being a Jimmy2sox & Jordan Light Year Remix on the Toecutter release. Flight Facilities are also on that release. Not him.

it turns out that, according to a semi-official email I just received, neither Jimmy2sox, nor Jordan Lightyear take part in Flight Facilities.. so who’s behind FF? the mystery remains unsolved…

Well then why does an official Future Entertainment page list Flight Facilities as Jimmy and U-Go-B?

They wouldn’t just make that shit up?

Coz Flight Facilities were going to do it and then didn’t. Jimmy2sox & U-Go-B filled it? Was a misunderstanding in the artwork..

I witnessed Flight Facilities Debut DJ Set – I can visually confirm that it was Jimmy2sox and U-Go-B (mostly his doing).
