French electro duo The Shoes are part of a new wave of indie artists from the Northern city of Reims (think Yuksek, Brodinski or The Bewitched Hands). Their debut album Crack My Bones was released in March 2011 to rave reviews and features a number of guest appearances including Esser, CocknBullKid and Wave Machines. There’s dancefloor moments that will be familiar to those who have followed the duo since their debut back in 2009, but there’s also dark electronic pop songs that you’re going to fall in love with.

The Shoes’ last single is the unstoppable stomper “Time To Dance”, released last month and backed by remixes from SebastiAn, Esser, Rocky Piano and Dddxie. You can stream the whole EP on SoundCloud and watch the video for the song (featuring Jake Gyllenhaal) on Vimeo.

Robosonic aka Cord and Sacha have been building a reputation for producing multidimensional electronic music ever since the release of their highly acclaimed debut album Sturm und Drang in 2007 on their own label Diskomafia.

The duo’s most recent release is the Worst Love EP, a breezy summer-ready record, included two new original tracks and two remixes by Doctor Dru and Fritz Zander. Stuck in the Sound are a French indie rock band hailing from Paris. The four-piece consists of José Reis Fontao (vocals and guitar), Emmanuel Barichasse (guitar) Arno Bordas (bass) and François Ernie (drums and backing vocals).

The band is well-known on the Parisian and French scene for its energetic scenic performances. They released their debut album Nevermind the Living Dead in November 2006, followed by their sophomore album Shoegazing Kids in 2009, both on Discograph.

WhoMadeWho‘s new album, Brighter, is currently making quite a splash on the indie dance/nu-disco scene, and it couldn’t be more deserving. This is the Danish trio’s second album in less than 12 months (their mini-album Knee Deep came out in April 2011) and it shows their evolution towards a darker sound, increasingly influenced by techno and deep house, particularly on the vocal-driven “Never Had The Time.”

Sébastien Tellier is back with “Cochon Ville”, the new single taken off his seventh studio album My God Is Blue, released on April 23rd via Record Makers.The official video, directed by Alex Courtes is provocative, to say at least, but then again Tellier has never been stranger to scandal and controversy.

Celsius is a London-based electro house act active since 2011. Not much else is known about the artist behind this mysterious moniker, but one thing is for sure: his debut EP, Super FM, is already earning rave reviews across the board. With early support from the likes of Annie Mac, Zombie Disco Squad, Perseus, Ben Mono, Grum or Alex Metric, Celsius has already been tagged as “one to watch in 2012″ by BBC Radio 1′s Jaymo & Andy George.

Celsius brings all that UK groove from the 90s and early 00s back into the mix. 2-Step, house and garage influences are in full effect here, only this time round there’s a more delicate and haunting touch. String stabs, synth breakdowns and intricate arpeggios work in unison aiming this EP straight at the heart then down to command the feet.

Dubbed the Godfather of French electro by I-D magazine, Joakim has been pumping out eclectic, trendsetting records for the better part of the 2000s to almost unanimous critical acclaim. His latest endeavour is the Nothing Gold EP, released last April 9th on Joakim’s own label Tigersushi. Available on vinyl or MP3, the EP features a new version of the title track, as well as remixes by Le Loup and Norway’s own Todd Terje.

Joakim is also a very respected remixer, who has worked with some of the most talented artists around. You have almost surely danced to one of his classy productions without even knowing it. Sydney-based producer Lancelot (aka Lance Gurisik) is a rather busy young man. In the past few months his productions have been getting a lot of heat, turning him into one of the rising stars of the Australian dance pop scene. Back in February, he dropped his debut EP, We Can Dance, via LA-based label Binary, featuring three original tracks and brilliant remixes by Goldroom, Fabian, Frames and Moonchild.

While Lancelot’s solo debut has been consistently praised by critics in Australia and abroad, the young artist has also managed to build a solid reputation as an expert remixer. Despite appearances, Rebeka is not a solo artist but a duo, comprised of charismatic vocalist Iwona Skwarek and multi-instrumentalist Bartosz Szczesny. Hailing from Poznan, Poland, the pair started working together in early 2011, experimenting with textures, synths and vocals and making explosive pop with dark edges.

Rebeka’s debut single “Stars” is released on April 20th via Portuguese electro/disco powerhouse Discotexas featuring four awesome remixes (including not just one, but two remixes by Punks Jump Up and a club mix by Mirror People), and it comes with a beautiful video directed by Balbina Bruszewska and Katarzyna Baraniewicz.
