It’s been a long time coming, but it seems UK synthpop maestro Grum (born Graeme Shepherd) is finally ready to come out of hiding, and he comes bearing gifts. In less than a month, he has released three massive remixes that share a common full-on synthesizer, big room style. Perfect way to start the weekend!

The first remix takes on UK duo Paper Crows’ single “Changing Colours”, giving it an impeccable glittering dancefloor makeover and the second reinvents Lonsdale Boys Club’s “Light Me Up” with big old fat synths and a bouncy synth bassline.

After the sweeping success of their Kitsune-backed single “Manners” and their critically acclaimed debut EP, Nights Like This, Stockholm electropop duo Icona Pop are finally back with the single “I Love It”, a fine slice of euphoric power pop with “summer hit” written all over it.

Driven by an infectious chanted chorus and a frantic Guetta-esque beat, this instant floorfiller is already out in Sweden and should get a worldwide release soon. Written by Charli XCX and co-produced by Patrick Berger (Tove Styrke, The Good Natured, Lana del Rey) and Style of Eye, the song comes with a cool video directed by Fredrik Etoall.

Currently based in Melbourne, Parachute Youth is the artistic pairing of Matt K Von And Jonny Castro, originally from Sydney and Adelaide respectively. Recently signed to Sweat It Out, the boys have crafted a wonderfully hypnotic big-room dance anthem, a song soaring with unbridled joy, dark melancholy and drama reverbed.

Remixes come from an all-star team of producers including Sam La More (best known for his production work with Gwen Stefani, Beni, Pnau…), 22-year-old Australian prodigy Benson and UK duo Just Kiddin.

The single was the most highly played and requested song on Triple J Radio in the first months of 2012 and the video for the song has already received over a million hits on YouTube. Quite a start for Parachute Youth!

Polarsets are Rob Howe (vocals, Guitar), Mickey Smith (bass) and James Rudd (drums), three lads from Newcastle, England. Sydney-based producer Lancelot (aka Lance Gurisik) is a rather busy young man. In the past few months his productions have been getting a lot of heat, turning him into one of the rising stars of the Australian dance pop scene. Back in February, he dropped his debut EP, We Can Dance, via LA-based label Binary, featuring three original tracks and brilliant remixes by Goldroom, Fabian, Frames and Moonchild.

While Lancelot’s solo debut has been consistently praised by critics in Australia and abroad, the young artist has also managed to build a solid reputation as an expert remixer. His kick-ass funky productions for the likes of Matt Corby, New Navy, Faker, Penguin Prison, Toucan, Tim & Jean (and many more) have been spreading like wildfire on the internet, earning him many new fans. Since the release of their debut EP last year, Sydney-based indie dance trio Rüfüs has been flooding the internets with waves of unrelentingly infectious tunes and touring incessantly across Australia, even earning a support slot for Röyksopp. Now they are back with a new EP, simply entitled Blue, released last week on April 6th via Gigpiglet.

Rüfüs are now streaming three tracks off the EP on their SoundCloud page and they set the standard pretty high! With a generous helping of euphoric beats, bucketloads of icy synths, and Tyrone Lindqvist’s echoing vocals sprinkled on top, these new songs more than fulfill the hopes that critics and bloggers had placed in the young Aussies.

Note that beside their original tracks, Rüfüs have also produced remixes for the likes of New Navy, Elizabeth Rose, Gotye and Joelistics, and the band’s own songs have in turn been remixed by SymbolOne, Germany Germany, Beaumont or Frames.

On the heels of their killer album Electric Hustle, Kraak & Smaak release the second in an occasional series of dancefloor slayers neatly entitled Kraak Beats. Having already released a classy pair of laid back house numbers on KB Vol. 1, the boys follow up with two understated gems,  “Runnin” and “This Feeling”, plus bonus track “BPLB”, which they are giving away as a free download on their SoundCloud.

Australian purveyor of electro dance Sneaky Sound System recently released their new jam “Really Want To See You Again”. It’s the third single to be lifted off their chart-topping album From Here To Anywhere, out globally on Modular.

Previous singles “We Love” and “Big” have enjoyed ARIA Top 40 success on the club chart and “Really Want To See You Again” seems to be heading down the same road. Released on March 9th, the song is backed by three remixes courtesy of Azari & III, Funkagenda JamXpress and KiNK.
