It’s been a long time coming, but it seems UK synthpop maestro Grum (born Graeme Shepherd) is finally ready to come out of hiding, and he comes bearing gifts. In less than a month, he has released three massive remixes that share a common full-on synthesizer, big room style. Perfect way to start the weekend!

The first remix takes on UK duo Paper Crows’ single “Changing Colours”, giving it an impeccable glittering dancefloor makeover and the second reinvents Lonsdale Boys Club’s “Light Me Up” with big old fat synths and a bouncy synth bassline.

French electro duo The Shoes are part of a new wave of indie artists from the Northern city of Reims (think Yuksek, Brodinski or The Bewitched Hands). Their debut album Crack My Bones was released in March 2011 to rave reviews and features a number of guest appearances including Esser, CocknBullKid and Wave Machines. There’s dancefloor moments that will be familiar to those who have followed the duo since their debut back in 2009, but there’s also dark electronic pop songs that you’re going to fall in love with.

The Shoes’ last single is the unstoppable stomper “Time To Dance”, released last month and backed by remixes from SebastiAn, Esser, Rocky Piano and Dddxie. You can stream the whole EP on SoundCloud and watch the video for the song (featuring Jake Gyllenhaal) on Vimeo.

Robosonic aka Cord and Sacha have been building a reputation for producing multidimensional electronic music ever since the release of their highly acclaimed debut album Sturm und Drang in 2007 on their own label Diskomafia.

The duo’s most recent release is the Worst Love EP, a breezy summer-ready record, included two new original tracks and two remixes by Doctor Dru and Fritz Zander. Currently based in Melbourne, Parachute Youth is the artistic pairing of Matt K Von And Jonny Castro, originally from Sydney and Adelaide respectively. Recently signed to Sweat It Out, the boys have crafted a wonderfully hypnotic big-room dance anthem, a song soaring with unbridled joy, dark melancholy and drama reverbed.

Remixes come from an all-star team of producers including Sam La More (best known for his production work with Gwen Stefani, Beni, Pnau…), 22-year-old Australian prodigy Benson and UK duo Just Kiddin.

The single was the most highly played and requested song on Triple J Radio in the first months of 2012 and the video for the song has already received over a million hits on YouTube. Quite a start for Parachute Youth!

Celsius is a London-based electro house act active since 2011. Not much else is known about the artist behind this mysterious moniker, but one thing is for sure: his debut EP, Super FM, is already earning rave reviews across the board. With early support from the likes of Annie Mac, Zombie Disco Squad, Perseus, Ben Mono, Grum or Alex Metric, Celsius has already been tagged as “one to watch in 2012″ by BBC Radio 1′s Jaymo & Andy George.

Celsius brings all that UK groove from the 90s and early 00s back into the mix. 2-Step, house and garage influences are in full effect here, only this time round there’s a more delicate and haunting touch. String stabs, synth breakdowns and intricate arpeggios work in unison aiming this EP straight at the heart then down to command the feet.

From Denmark by way of Brooklyn, electropop sensation Oh Land wowed us last year with her single “Son of a Gun” and its subsequent remix by DJ/producer Yuksek.

Late night bike riding and endless love for retro synthesizers inspired Ester Ideskog to compose synth heavy electro pop hits under her new alias Vanbot. She has spent the past few years writing and producing music, constantly searching for the right sound, with the precious help of companion/producer Sebastian Forslund. Their many sonic experiments led to the release of Vanbot’s self-titled debut album in Spring 2011, quickly followed by a remix EP featuring Niva, Fear of Tigers and Bremen.

Chicago-based electro trio Gemini Club are back with a new single, “By Surprise”, taken off their forthcoming EP, Here We Sit, to be released next April. Sydney DJ/producer Beni has a brand new video for his high-energy dancefloor anthem “Someone Just Like You” and it’s premiering on umstrum in Europe (and Prefix in the US)! Shot in California around Joshua Tree and Death Valley and directed by Partizan’s Jared Eberhardt, the video features amazing views of the desert, kaleidoscope shots and trippy projections on naked bodies. Pretty psychedelic…

For the record, “Someone Just Like You” features Mattie Safer (formerly of The Rapture) on vocals and it is taken off Beni’s debut LP, House of Beni, a sparkling collection of pulsating dance music, ranging from Chicago House to electropop, disco and pretty much everything in between.
