Aussie electropop duo Flight Facilities have a brand new single called ‘With You’, this time featuring the vocal work of Hot Chip drummer Grovesnor – something darker, something deeper and something more mature.

Currently based in Melbourne, Parachute Youth is the artistic pairing of Matt K Von And Jonny Castro, originally from Sydney and Adelaide respectively. Recently signed to Sweat It Out, the boys have crafted a wonderfully hypnotic big-room dance anthem, a song soaring with unbridled joy, dark melancholy and drama reverbed.

Remixes come from an all-star team of producers including Sam La More (best known for his production work with Gwen Stefani, Beni, Pnau…), 22-year-old Australian prodigy Benson and UK duo Just Kiddin.

The single was the most highly played and requested song on Triple J Radio in the first months of 2012 and the video for the song has already received over a million hits on YouTube. Quite a start for Parachute Youth!

Sydney-based producer Lancelot (aka Lance Gurisik) is a rather busy young man. In the past few months his productions have been getting a lot of heat, turning him into one of the rising stars of the Australian dance pop scene. Back in February, he dropped his debut EP, We Can Dance, via LA-based label Binary, featuring three original tracks and brilliant remixes by Goldroom, Fabian, Frames and Moonchild.

While Lancelot’s solo debut has been consistently praised by critics in Australia and abroad, the young artist has also managed to build a solid reputation as an expert remixer. His kick-ass funky productions for the likes of Matt Corby, New Navy, Faker, Penguin Prison, Toucan, Tim & Jean (and many more) have been spreading like wildfire on the internet, earning him many new fans. The Belligerents are an indie pop band born and bred in Brisbane, Australia. After the success of their debut EP, Less Arty More Party, released in 2011, they are now gearing up for the release of their new EP, which was recorded at Airlock Studios with Yanto Browning (The Medics, Jungle Giants, Tara Simmons). The first single is called “Infatuation” and it’s already available on all download platforms.

Catchy is the key word here, with hooks so sharp they should be illegal. Now wonder The Belligerents have already shared stage with some pretty big names, like Metronomy, Neon Indian, Breakbot, Yacht Club DJs, Bleeding Knees Club or Last Dinosaurs. Keep an ear out for the new EP, out next May!

Since the release of their debut EP last year, Sydney-based indie dance trio Rüfüs has been flooding the internets with waves of unrelentingly infectious tunes and touring incessantly across Australia, even earning a support slot for Röyksopp. Now they are back with a new EP, simply entitled Blue, released last week on April 6th via Gigpiglet.

Rüfüs are now streaming three tracks off the EP on their SoundCloud page and they set the standard pretty high! With a generous helping of euphoric beats, bucketloads of icy synths, and Tyrone Lindqvist’s echoing vocals sprinkled on top, these new songs more than fulfill the hopes that critics and bloggers had placed in the young Aussies.

Note that beside their original tracks, Rüfüs have also produced remixes for the likes of New Navy, Elizabeth Rose, Gotye and Joelistics, and the band’s own songs have in turn been remixed by SymbolOne, Germany Germany, Beaumont or Frames.

To extend their journey of endless summer, Melbourne’s own Cadillac recently released a collection of remixes from their self-titled debut EP. They had been kept as a vinyl exclusive until now but they are finally available digitally via Sydney-based label Future Classic (also home to fellow Aussie hot-shots New Navy and Flight Facilities).

Van She have finally announced the release of their long awaited sophomore record, Idea Of Happiness. The album will be out internationally next July via Modular Recordings but you can already take a listen to the first cut and title track below to get a taste of things to come.

Recorded, engineered and produced by the band themselves in Kings Cross, Sydney and mixed in Los Angeles with Tony Hoffer (the perfect man for the job with a resume that includes work with Beck, Air, Phoenix and M83), the final result is so uplifting it’s practically levitational.

Bag Raiders have a nice surprise for all their fans! They have been pretty quiet lately but it’s just because they were busy curating the fourth edition of Modular’s Leave Them All Behind compilation series! After inviting The Bang Gang Deejays on vol.2, trendy Aussie label Modular decided to hand the reins to Sydney’s own Bag Raiders for number 4, which incidentally features a pretty sweet remix of “Snake Charmer”, taken off the duo’s glorious self-titled debut album.

Boulet’s self-titled debut was an accomplished first step for the twenty-something Sydney native – performed, recorded and produced by the young artist in his parent’s garage. On We Keep The Beat, he has again taken the reins, but this time he has opened the doors to the garage, and it shows. “Trounce” and “You’re a Animal” (shared in late 2010) sound like a real call to arms, a good introduction to a record that is shaping up to be every bit as thrilling and joyous as Boulet’s debut.
