Highasakite are Trond Bersu, Ingrid Helene Håvik and Øystein Skar. Together they create smart pop music with elegant arrangements and lush soundscapes. Even though Louis Warynski (aka Chapelier Fou) is still relatively unknown to the masses, he already has quite a lot to show for himself. Despite appearances, Rebeka is not a solo artist but a duo, comprised of charismatic vocalist Iwona Skwarek and multi-instrumentalist Bartosz Szczesny. Hailing from Poznan, Poland, the pair started working together in early 2011, experimenting with textures, synths and vocals and making explosive pop with dark edges.

Rebeka’s debut single “Stars” is released on April 20th via Portuguese electro/disco powerhouse Discotexas featuring four awesome remixes (including not just one, but two remixes by Punks Jump Up and a club mix by Mirror People), and it comes with a beautiful video directed by Balbina Bruszewska and Katarzyna Baraniewicz.

After weeks of rumours and wild conjectures, Baltimore duo Beach House are finally sharing a first taste of their fourth studio album, Bloom, due for release on May 11th via Mistletone Records/Inertia. Expectations are pretty high for this new LP, especially after the success of the duo’s 2010 album, Teen Dream, which spawned a few memorable singles and remixes.

Throughout this period, melodies, chords, rhythms, words, and textures surfaced in moments of their own choosing. Three years after her last studio album Far, NY-based singer songwriter Regina Spektor is back with a new single, “All the Rowboats”, which you can sample below.  This is the first taste of Spektor’s sixth LP, What We Saw From The Cheap Seats, to be released next Spring via Sire Records.

Recorded with producer Mike Elizondo (best known for his work with hip hop legends Dr. Dre, Eminem or Mary J Blige), this new song is darker and moodier than most of her previous material while still showcasing her renowned knack for memorable melodies. A beautiful piece altogether!

The latest addition to German label Sinnbus’ busy roster of talented artists is Berlin-based duo Me And My Drummer. In the past couple of months, Charlotte Brandi (vocals and keys) and Matze Pröllochs (drums) have been sharing stage with Einar Stray, Bodi Bill and Unmap and they are currently putting the finishing touches on their forthcoming debut album at Radio Buellebrueck Studio in Berlin.

On their debut single “You’re A Runner” Charlotte’s voice forms a tender, intimate, immediate alliance with a set of instruments reduced to its core. Almost brutally close, they create an intoxicatingly beautiful piece of drum-driven pop. Stream it above and watch the video on Vimeo.

Quebec songstress Ariane Moffatt is gearing up for the release of her fourth album MA on February 27th via Audiogram. On this record she reinvents herself, delving into uncharted electro-pop territory with the boldest, brightest songs of her career. By far her most personal work to date, MA is written, performed and produced completely by Ariane herself.

“In Your Body” is the second single taken off the coming album. It evokes Goldfrapp meets the B-52s with its shuffle-step beat, jazzy synth stabs and sassy lyrics.

Just a few months after the Terrible Angels EP, French/English songstress Charlotte Gainsbourg is already back with Stage Whisper, a double-LP of live and unreleased material released via Because Music / Elektra.
