Polarsets are Rob Howe (vocals, Guitar), Mickey Smith (bass) and James Rudd (drums), three lads from Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. Their uplifting brand of indie pop relies on fast-paced guitars, playful vocals and plenty of synths to give the mix its dancey electro edge. Bringing to mind the sound of Two Door Cinema Club, Fenech Soler or a younger version of Friendly Fires, Polarsets produce the kind of punchy and addictive tunes that should guarantee them a spot on every music blog’s list of artists to watch in 2011.
With their freshly released Sunshine Eyes EP the three-piece shows once again that they know their way around catchy pop songs. No wonder Parisian label Kitsuné decided to endorse the trio and release the single with additional remixes by Jensen Sportag, Kel Skies, and Kid Adrift. The song is also featured on the Kitsuné Maison 11 compilation. Check out the original mix below…
