This sure has been a long time coming but Lo-Fi-Fnk‘s sophomore album The Last Summer is finally here! It took over six years for this duo of perfectionists to follow up on their 2005 debut full-length Boylife, although they did reward their loyal fans with a few EPs here and there to ease wait. Singles such as “Marchin’ In”, “Sleepless” and “Boom” were so strongly received and helped build further anticipation for the new album.
Ahead of the release, Leonard Drougge and August Hellsing put together a collection of amazing remixes of “Boom”, including reworkings by Moonlight Matters, Yelle DJs (Tepr & Grandmarnier), Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman and Weekend Wolves. Two remixes are featured below for your listening pleasure. The first is by Belgian producer-du-jour and top remixer Moonlight Matters, who came up with a disco-tinged remix. Number two is a dancefloor-friendly version by Tepr and Grandmarnier. You can stream the whole thing on Soundcloud.
Two bonus tracks:
Lo-Fi-Fnk – Sleepless (MVSEVM Remix)
Polock – Fireworks (Lo-Fi-Fnk Remix)
