Born in Belgium but raised in Australia, Gotye (pronounce go-tee-yeah) is the alter ego of Walter De Backer. He has released two studio albums independently, Boardface (2003) and Like Drawing Blood (2006), and one remix album titled Mixed Blood (2007). Singer, songwriter and drummer, Wally is also one-third of Melbourne indie-pop band The Basics, who have released three studio albums since 2002.
As of 2009, Gotye is still performing with The Basics and working on a third album, currently in production. There is no release date yet…
